Adopting A Doxiepin Puppy

One summer day a Mommy and Daddy were excited because they were adopting a doxiepin puppy.  The doxiepin puppy they were adopting was 9 weeks old when his parents adopted him.  A doxiepin dog is a mix between a dachshund (dotson) and a minature pinscher.  This little doxiepin was born sometime in April/May 2012.  His Daddy and Mommy adopted him in July 2012 from a rescue adoption shelter.  As his Daddy and Mommy didn't know his exact birthdate, they decided to celebrate his birthday on June 11th as that is the day the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup!!

This doxiepin puppy is named Anze after the famous Los Angeles Kings hockey player Anze Kopitar. Anze's name used to be "Max" temporarily.. But once Anze's Mommy and Daddy met him, they knew the name "Max" did not suit this little doxiepin!  He was too special and perfect to be a "Max." Therefore, "Max" was changed to Anze!

Anze is a fun loving cuddle bug.  He is such a sweet puppy.

Adoption Day!

Welcome Home Anze!

Proud new parents!

Doxiepin Opening Christmas Presents

Here is Anze the doxiepin opening Christmas presents.  This little doxiepin started learning how to open Christmas presents at his Grandma Sue's house on Christmas Eve.  His Grandma Sue got him such great puppy Christmas presents.  Anze opened doggy treats and doggy toys.  He liked playing with the unwrapped wrapping paper more than opening his Christmas presents. This was Anze's first time ever opening Christmas presents. He was so distracted in strands of wrapping paper and ribbons and bows.

Although this was the doxiepin's first time opening presents, he did pretty well.  He had to get help from his Daddy.

On Christmas morning, Anze went to Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Bill's house where he got to open more presents.  Anze did a pretty good job opening his presents Christmas morning considering he had so much practice on Christmas Eve.

Get it Anze... Get it!!

Excited to see what Santa got him....

Anze found the toy under the Christmas wrapping paper, but still needs to get the rest of the paper off the toy!

Almost there....

Anze's Daddy needed to help him keep the present sturdy so Anze could keep biting the wrapping paper off..

Yay! This little doxiepin has got it down!
Good job Anze!!

Anze opened his Christmas gift and was so surprised to find he got a squirrel squeaky mat toy from Santa!  Anze's grandparents got him new water dish and food dish to keep at their house for when he comes over to visit, a new squeaky duck toy (since he ate through his old one) and doggy treats!
Anze was so good at opening all of his Christmas presents.

Doxiepin Loves His Christmas Tree

Anze the doxiepin loves his Christmas tree.  This was Anze's first Christmas tree and his parents weren't sure how this little doxiepin would react to the Christmas tree.  Anze was so excited that he got to go with his parents to the Christmas tree lot and pick out his very own Christmas tree.  He sniffed out all the Christmas trees until he found the perfect Christmas tree to bring home.

Anze was eager to get home to unwrap his Christmas tree and start to decorate it.

Anze is now a 7 month old doxiepin and is very well behaved.   He weighs about 13lbs and seems to have stopped gaining weight and growing in size.. He looks to tiny compared to standing next to the very big Christmas tree.

His Mommy and Daddy didn't even have to warn him about being good and playing nice with the tree while they figured out how to set up their first Christmas tree.

Anze liked to sniff the fresh pine and watch patiently as his parents set the tree up.

Little doxiepin waiting patiently to unwrap the Christmas tree..

Anze is looking at how all the beautiful lights were evenly placed on the Christmas tree.  He watched his parents go around and around, putting them perfectly on the tree.

Now Anze's ready to start hanging the decorations on the tree..

Ta-Da!!!! Perfect-o! With a beautiful angel on the top!

Anze's parents did not hang ornaments on the very bottom portion of the Christmas tree so that he wouldn't be tempted to take the ornaments off to play with them.

Anze was such a good doxiepin! He never once peed on the Christmas tree or knocked the Christmas tree down.  Anze's Mommy had read reviews of other dogs being bad when having a Christmas tree in their home for the holidays.  Anze was such a good boy.  Sometimes Anze snuck a drink of water from the tree dish holder, but never did anything harmful or bad.

Anze did so well with his first Chrismas tree!  He loved having the Christmas tree in the house.

Anze can't wait for next year so he can go pick out his next Christmas tree!
